BIPA INTENSIVE PROGRAMS
Bahasa Indonesia for Non-Native Speakers
OBJECTIVES
Bahasa Indonesia for Non-Native Speakers Program (BIPA Program) is designed to train international students to actively communicate in both written and spoken Indonesia.
PROGRAMES AND LENGTH OF STUDY
Level:
BIPA 1: Elementary to Intermediate Level
BIPA 2: Intermediate to Advanced Level
BIPA Intensive Program takes four months, and is held from March to June and September to December every year.
Classes are scheduled five days a week: Monday to Friday, from 10:15-12:15 WIB. The language skills taught cover speaking, reading, listening, writing, vocabulary building, and grammar.
In addition, BIPA Intensive Program provides extracurricular activities such as short visits to local areas which aim to familiarize students with the daily life of Indonesian Society.
MEDIA OF INSTRUCTION
The media of Instruction for BIPA Intensive Program is English and Indonesian language.

ADMISSION to BIPA INTENSIVE PROGRAM
- Basic Requirement for Applicant
To be eligible to participate in BIPA Intensive Program, the applicant must graduate from High School level or equivalent, shown by their Diploma. The applicant must understand English.
- Application Procedures:
1. International Students Living Abroad
In order to participate in BIPA Intensive Program, international students living abroad must hold Social Cultural Visa or Student VISA.
a. Social Cultural Visa
This visa is granted to the Applicant who is willing to participate in BIPA Intensive Program for 1 semester (4 months).
This visa is valid for one or two-month stay. It can be extended once in a month, up to two times; at the nearby Immigration Offices in Indonesia.
To apply for this visa, the Applicant must send a full copy of their passport (the whole book) to ATMA JAYA Language Learning Center (PPB) Office via e-mail or post. PPB Office will arrange a Telex Letter (cable visa) for Applicant to obtain a social cultural visa.
One copy of this Letter will be sent directly to the Indonesian Embassy in the applicant’s country, and another copy will be sent to the Applicant by e-mail. Using this Letter, Applicant can apply for Social Cultural visa at the Indonesian Embassy.
b. Student Visa
This visa is given to the Applicant who is willing to learn at BIPA Intensive Program for 2 semesters (1 year).
To apply for this visa, the Applicant must send these following documents to PPB Office via post or email three (3) months before the program started:

| A letter from the Applicant’s sponsor or guarantor which stated their responsibilities to finance all the Applicant’s expenses while participating in BIPA Intensive Program at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, Jakarta |
| A statement letter of Applicant’s willingness to obey the Indonesian rules |
| A statement letter of Applicant’s willingness to obey the regulations of BIPA Intensive Program |
PPB Office will forward the application to the Indonesian Ministry of Education. After the Ministry of Education issues a Study Permit Letter, PPB Office will arrange the telex letter (cable visa) to the immigration. Using the study permit letter and the telex letter (cable visa), the Applicant can apply the Student Visa at the Indonesian Embassy.
Within 7 days of Applicant’s arrival in Indonesia, the Applicant must report to PPB office. PPB Office will issue a recommendation letter for the Applicant to apply for KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) and report to the local police.
PPB Office can cancel the application if the Applicant fails to obtain the study permit letter from the Indonesian Ministry of Education.
2. International Students Living in Indonesia
KITAS holder or Social Cultural Visa holder can apply for BIPA Intensive Program directly to PPB office. For registration, the Applicant must bring a copy of their KITAS or Passport and fill an application form.

Registration fee: Rp. 200.000,-
Tuition fee for 160 academic hours
BIPA 1 Rp 8.500.000,- (inclusive materials)
BIPA 2 Rp 11.000.000,- (inclusive materials)
*Fee for student visa: Rp. 4.500.000,-

Payment for Registration, tuition fee, and Telex (cable visa) can be made by:

Please note that the transfers fee both the transmitted and beneficiary bank should be paid by the Applicant. PPB Office does not receive cheque or credit cards.
Note: Tuition fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
