BIPA INTENSIVE PROGRAMS

Bahasa Indonesia for Non-Native Speakers

 

 

OBJECTIVES

Bahasa Indonesia for Non-Native Speakers Program (BIPA Program) is designed to train international students to actively communicate in both written and spoken Indonesia.

 

 

PROGRAMES AND LENGTH OF STUDY

 

Level:

BIPA 1

BIPA 2

BIPA 3

 

BIPA 1 & 2 Programs take four months each program from February to May and from September to December.

BIPA 3 Program takes two months from June to July.

 

Classes are scheduled five days a week: Monday to Friday, from 10:15-12:15 WIB. The language skills taught cover speaking, reading, listening, writing, vocabulary building, and grammar.

 

Additionally BIPA Program provide extracurricular activities such as short visits to local areas which are arranged to familiarize students with daily life of Indonesian Society.

 

 

 

INTENSIVE BIPA 1    

  

Level:  Elementary to Intermediate 

Period: 160 hours

Course Time:  Monday to Friday  (10:15 - 12:15)

Fees:  Rp.  10.000.000,-  inclusive of registration and learning material fees 

 

Application deadline: - (for applicants who need student visa)*

Application deadline: - (for applicants who already have KITAS)

 

Since there will be limited seats, priority will be given to those who register early.

INTENSIVE BIPA 2      

 

Level:  Intermediate to Advanced 

Period: 160 hours

Course Time:  Monday to Friday  (10:15 - 12:15)

Fees:  Rp.  12.500.000,-  inclusive of registration and learning material fees

Note:  BIPA 2 is ONLY for applicants who already have KITAS.

INTENSIVE BIPA 3 - Bahasa Indonesia for Specific Purposes

 

Level:  Upper Advanced 

Period: 80 hours

Course Time:  Monday to Friday  (10:15 - 12:15)

Fees:  Rp 8.000.000,- inclusive of registration and learning materials fees

 

  

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

 

  • BIPA 1 :

As a prerequisite to attend BIPA 1 Program, the applicant must graduate at least from High School level or equivalent, shown by their DIPLOMA. The applicant must understand English.

 

  • BIPA 2 :

The applicant has completed BIPA 1 Program at PPB Atma Jaya

 

  • BIPA 3 :

The applicant has completed BIPA 2 Program at PPB Atma Jaya with minimum grade of B.

 

Certificates and Grading System

 

The certificate of completion is awarded to students who have accomplished the examination with the minimum mark of 60.

 

Students who are absent more than 25% of the total hours will NOT be entitled to receive the certificate of completion.

 

The allowable maximum lateness is 15 minutes. Students who are late for more than 15 minutes will be considered absent.

 

 

ACCEPTANCE AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES

 

PPB Atma Jaya will send a statement of acceptance to each applicant accepted to Intensive BIPA program. Decision on acceptance is confidential and absolute.

 

 

 

Payments made without presenting the official statement of acceptance are non-refundable.

 

Atma Jaya Semanggi Campus has no dormitory.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING STUDENT VISA:

 

1. Applicant should be under 30 years old.

(Exception is given for graduate students who are going to do their academic research in Jakarta). We are not sponsoring students family members.

2. Applicant should take Intensive BIPA Courses for two semesters/ one year. 

3. Applicant‘s Curriculum Vitae (CV) 

4. Applicant‘s Diploma, Transcript, and Academic Certificate 

5. Applicant‘s valid passport
(Your passport should have minimum 18 months of validity when you are applying.)

6. Latest passport-size photo with red-color background

7. Statement from hospital stating that the applicant is physically and mentally healthy. The medical report should include a check-up for HIV, Hepatitis, and Drug Addiction.  

8. A letter from the applicant‘s sponsor or guarantor which stated their responsibilities to applicant’s behavior and expenses while studying at PPB Atma Jaya University Jakarta. 

9. An official bank balance with a minimum amount of equivalent to US$ 3.000
( written in English ). The bank account can be under your name, spouse, or 
parents ( legal evidence should be attached ). 

10. A letter which stated the applicant’s intent to study in Indonesia is free from any political motives, and is ONLY DEVOTED TO STUDY, and willingness to obey the regulation in Atma Jaya University Jakarta.

All documents above should be submitted 3 ( three ) months before the commencement of the program.
